Dr. Beverly Lew is the founder of Sound Advice and the doctor of audiology in Burbank, CA behind 30+ years of independent hearing healthcare. She earned her B.A. in Communicative Disorders and M.A. in Audiology from California State University, Northridge, and her Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still University in Arizona. She is dually licensed in California for Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing — meaning diagnosis, treatment, and device fitting all happen under one trusted provider.

Her clinical career began at Brotman Memorial Hospital, Facey Medical Clinic, the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Medical Clinic, and several private ENT practices. In 1991, she opened her first office — Hearing Care Associates — in North Hollywood. She rebranded as Sound Advice and relocated to the Burbank media district in 1998, building it over the next three decades into one of L.A.'s most respected independent audiology offices.

Since 1992 — well before in-ear monitoring became an industry standard — she has been a vocal advocate for the prevention of musician hearing loss. She designs and fits custom musician earplugs, in-ear monitors, and specialized hearing protection for touring musicians, motion-picture and television sound professionals, firefighters, peace officers, and U.S. Veterans.

Her approach is summed up by something she tells patients often: "Everyone hears differently. Some people prefer jazz, others rock — my job is to help each patient find the sound that works for them." Every plan at Sound Advice is built around the individual's hearing loss, lifestyle, and budget — no jargon, no pressure.

Outside the practice, Dr. Lew is a mother of three adult sons, an avid hiker and cyclist, a children's-ministry volunteer through her local church and Compassion International — and a devoted Dodgers fan.
